Day classes
Cost - low or no fees: $50 tuition for day classes, materials extra where indicated. These day classes are subsidised by the Adult Community and Further Education Board through the Learn Local program.
You only make one $50 payment for the year which covers the tuition for your class or any other day classes if you want to do more. Fee relief is available from Bnym if you cannot pay the $50 tuition fee or the materials fee.
Times: 10.00am – 3.00pm Mondays and Tuesdays during school terms

Indigenous Design and Production – beginners
70 hours (2 days per week for 4.5 weeks) - $50 tuition + $100 for materials
You will get hands-on experience in the techniques and practical skills you need to design, make and finish your work. You will work with ceramics and wood and will learn the basics of how to promote and sell what you make.
People from all cultures are welcome and you will be taught in a safe place that deeply respects your cultural protocols. Please discuss your needs with us so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you. This program may lead to employment as assistants in crafts, recreation and visual arts jobs or to self-employment.
Bookkeeping Basics using XeroTM
40 hours (2 days per week for 3 weeks) - $50 tuition
This hands-on course will give you a good understanding and knowledge of the basics of cloud-based bookkeeping using XeroTM accounting software. The course covers the needs of small businesses including invoicing, tracking cash flow, reconciling bank statements, single touch payroll and making BAS and GST payments. You will learn on your own with the teacher so that you can work at the pace that is best for you.
Employment Skills for Job Seekers
60 hours (2 days per week for 4 weeks) - $50 tuition
This course is for you if you have been out of the workforce for a while and need to refresh your work skills. You will learn the day-to-day tasks that happen in a typical workplace:
- Using technology to create work documents, including financial information
- Prioritising and organising your workload for the day, including filing and checklists
- Handling and processing customer complaints
- OH&S and Covid Safe workplaces and what part you play in that
- Working effectively as a culturally aware employee, and
- How to communicate well and make a work presentation.
Putting a Small Business Online - beginners
40 hours (2 days per week for 3 weeks) - $50 tuition
This entry level course is designed for people who want to know how to put a small business online, to market and sell successfully. You will get hands-on real-world experience in managing a small business online including selling and inventory management, fulfilling orders, updating marketing information on a website as well as ideas for social media marketing.
Evening Classes
Design, painting and glazing skills for ceramics
Cost: $250 for 5 weeks includes materials and firings
Minimum group size: 4 people
Maximum group size: 8 people
Times: 5.30pm – 8.00pm Wednesdays
Each week you will work with a biscuit fired pot learning the skills needed to design for and paint on different shapes and sizes of ceramic pots.
